In terms of the best strategies for areas with hard water, the key is to filter your water before placing it in the kettle to reduce the speed of the build up. Also, when the time comes to clean the kettle fill it with half vinegar and water and let it sit for an hour, after the hour is up boil the kettle, rinse and clean – you can also use lemon juice as well.
